My Spotlighted Images

Sometimes the mark of man alters the landscape and it's a shame because this beach is beautiful

7 Feb 2012 6:17pm

kiwisa from North Shore, New Zealand

I don't know what it is, but discarded tyres always make me so mad. You have captured the ugliness of it with your title and the strong focus on man's left overs.

7 Feb 2012 7:30pm

Steve Rice from Olympia, United States

An incredibly beautiful shot in the top 80% of the frame. Then we have to deal with the reality of the automobile: old tires, pollution, drilling for oil, etc. And it will only get worse until we can no longer afford the gasoline.

7 Feb 2012 7:57pm

Rick from Toronto, Canada

A paradoxical image of the best sort : one that makes a statement and gives us pause. Beauty and the Beast, indeed. I've always enjoyed Thoreau; if only he knew what we would be able to do with our atmosphere and the orbital regions around this planet, filled with increasing amounts of space junk.

Phil David Morris, 2012 from Saskatoon, New York, Canada

Well Henry, we got news for you !! A moment of pollution = moment of beauty !~

Adela Fonts from Barcelona, Spain

A rubber wheel on the beach ... is something you always find on the beaches. It hurts!
However, the picture of you is beautiful my friend! Perhaps there will come a day when nothing econtraremos not on the beach ... just golden sand for the sun ... rezemos to be like this ... among many other things that are very wrong in our world ... A hug friend Pavan..., Adela

Fabulous quote from Thoreau, Pavan, though some would say we've also messed up the skies big time! My first thought when I saw the tire was it'd make a great beach game, similar to horseshoes. :)
