A Bubble Of Seed...

Posted by
Pavan Kaul (Mumbai, India) on 3 August 2010 in Plant & Nature.

What a strange thing is the propagation of life! A bubble of seed which may be spilt in a whore's lap, or in the orgasm of a voluptuous dream, might (for aught we know) have formed a Caesar or a Bonaparte -- there is nothing remarkable recorded of their sires, that I know of.
~Lord Byron

A cluster of eggs sired by an unknown insect or reptile, secured in a crease of the bark of this tree...Precious, no doubt, for who knows what they'll bring forth! A strange and fascinating propagation of life...!!

Synchronicity... I posted a Byron quote a few moments ago, too. :)

These are like pearls, aren't they? Or polished beads. Something precious, as you say, nonetheless. Of so little consequence, and yet full of so much potential.

Wow, what a fascinating capture. At first glance, without reading the description, it looked like a macro of a deli sandwich. I see corned beef, lettuce and sandwich bread, with bug eggs someone would have gotten fired over. It's amazing to read what it really is. At least no one lost a job. I wonder if Lord Byron knew the Earl of Sandwich. ;)
