Nature's Nurture...

Posted by
Pavan Kaul (Mumbai, India) on 16 July 2010 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

I like trees because they seem more resigned to the way they have to live than other things do. ~Willa Cather

Ohhh, isn't that the truth! And they move and speak very S L O W L Y (as we know by the Ents from LOTR). Maybe that's why they live so long and have a rich, full life, Pavan!

@Ginnie: You are so right Ginnie...many thanks:)

Wonderful quote from Willa Cather. And an absolutely beautiful image, Pavan. Now you are in the fantasy fairy tale realm, only it's real. This would make a fantastic set, wouldn't it? Not to diminish your thoughts here. Nature is amazing. It nurtures, and must be nurtured back. :)

16 Jul 2010 5:28am

@Bettina: In fact I took this picture while on a shoot for television. I am a great lover of nature and each time I don't want to return...but that's not possible...just yet...! But eventually, someday, I am certainly going to walk away into nature's warm embrace....:) Thank you Betty for your wonderful thoughts on this.

My love affair with trees is well documented, and this frame is manor from heaven to my eyes. Beautifully observed, there is almost a sensuality to the way that the tree lays, almost shapely as in the lines of a woman. An idyllic location that captivates me.

This is so beautiful. I love the different colors - the purple - and the light shinning just so down the tree - really beautiful. Nature at its finest. And it's true about trees - resigned - and remaining so beautiful in their resignation. I often think of water in this way - and how it will go around or below or on top of any that is its way. Finding its way as peacefully as possible.

Good evening, Pavan,
the mossy tree trunk in the foreground and the colors indicate the general view, the touch of a enchanted forest. It looks very mysterious and I like it very well. Have a nice evening, and all the best. Sincerely Christel
