A Path To Dread...

Posted by Pavan Kaul (Mumbai, India) on 10 January 2012 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

There is nothing more dreadful than the habit of doubt. Doubt separates people. It is a poison that disintegrates friendships and breaks up pleasant relations. It is a thorn that irritates and hurts; it is a sword that kills.

~Buddha

We sometimes have to cross a scary path to something or to get to where we want
to be. There is no doubt to that. Just perseverance, we must cross that deadland to
get to the glory beyond. Beautiful photo !~

I see layers of meaning and possibility in this beautiful moody shot. The foreground path is barren looking, but beyond it lies beauty and perhaps a form of salvation and peace that requires the soul to first brave this less than beckoning present route to get there. Life is essentially paradoxical, fluid, quantum, and a classroom. Your photos speak to that for me.

Farnaaz from Iran, Iran

A path toward 2 ways : dark side / bright side . Dark side is almost all of the photo but the shiny water is there , small but effective .

I wish I would be a Buddhist .

11 Jan 2012 6:28am

@Farnaaz: You need not be a Buddhist to live as per the teachings of the Buddha for he does not preach religion. His teachings are a philosophy, a way of life, the true meaning of life. Anyone can follow his teachings and religion never comes into play. Religions divide people while the teachings of Buddha unite the world. Feel free to look up on the net or the countless books available:)

Dread is perhaps similar to worry. The anticipation of something negative. Here the saying goes that worry is the interest on a debt you may never owe. Perhaps we should see dread the same way. Or just charge ahead blindly and get it over with... ;)

You known how I'm touched by your sensitivity in your pictures and words .... The doubt could be in the choice or in the non choice to come out the path ... Don't be afraid to go in the dark to be able to go in the right path after ... ( I hope you understand what I mean ... sorry for my english ... and my little dictionary ;) A strong picture my friend ... and I'm agree with your answer to Farnaaz !! Have a marvellous sunday my friend !!
