Children Of A Lesser God 2...

Posted by Pavan Kaul (Mumbai, India) on 12 August 2011 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

Those who educate children well are more to be honored than they who produce them; for these only gave them life, those the art of living well.
~Aristotle

No man should bring children into the world who is unwilling to persevere to the end in their nature and education.
~Plato

It must be hard for those little kids trying to sell their fruit, maybe they hope you will buy some in return for the photo ?

Un air bien sérieux, et sûrement très consciencieux dans leur travail, et peut être intimidé par le photographe, mais en tous cas vraiment mignons ! Bonne jounrée à toi

Emmeji from France

Le visage de cette "grande" fille semble bien triste... trop de responsabilités sans doute pour une enfant si jeune !

k@ from Paris, France

The older one is so serious in her duty and already far from childhood by need, a moving trio that says a lot about innocence slowly perverted by poverty, yet colors and hopes remain, take care sweeties*

This is very touching. What a contrast this makes to (some of) the youth around me trashing and burning the city in order to steal a plasma TV and an iPad . . In the children you show, I see hardship, yes, but values, too.

The oldest - so hardened already. You have chosen wonderful quotes again - children need education, but we must be careful what we really teach them...
