House Hunting...Posted by Pavan Kaul (Mumbai, India) on 28 June 2009 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio. This pigeon caught my eye while it was perched on the air-conditioner for over half an hour, periodically leaving it to flutter about, possibly in search of a cozy place to spend the on-coming night. As the sky deepened to a golden hue, I desperately prayed/hoped the bird would fly into a position that I had in mind to make this picture. But as we all have experienced, nothing can be achieved in the photographic realm without displaying the virtue of patience. He refused to budge from within a few feet, mostly keeping to the building in the background. My problem was compounded by the fact that my memory card had space left for just one last exposure! So 'shoot-check-delete, shoot-check-delete' is what I kept doing...and praying, and cursing...! And just when I had all but given up...BINGO! Right where I wanted him! Curiously enough, the pigeon vanished into the over-hang of the tiled roof...Seems to me we both finally got what we wanted:) A film maker from India who has keenly nurtured his passion for photography since adolescence. 'AMBROSIA' is what I have named this photoblog, since 'creative expression' is the nectar that nourishes the soul of all creative artists. One can spend a lifetime taking pictures which may eventually add up to just a few hours, but come to think of it, that may just be the sum total of ones life. A camera as a companion is an absolute must..be it movie, or still." © Pavan Kaul /Ambrosia . All rights reserved.
