"Jonathan"

A pagan soul taking flight...

A film maker from India who has keenly nurtured his passion for photography since adolescence.

'AMBROSIA' is what I have named this photoblog, since 'creative expression' is the nectar that nourishes the soul of all creative artists. One can spend a lifetime taking pictures which may eventually add up to just a few hours, but come to think of it, that may just be the sum total of ones life. A camera as a companion is an absolute must..be it movie, or still."

P J W Miller from Chase Terrace, United Kingdom

Not sure about this one Pavan, I can sort of see what you tried to purvey but it makes my eyes dazzle a little, I would have preferred to see the main subject (the bird) a little more in focus (sorry)

15 Apr 2009 7:55am

@P J W Miller: In fact I made a careful choice of a long lens, slow shutter and panned the camera with the bird, the auto focus switched off, to achieve this surreal image:)

Standley from Carquefou, France

I like the blur here. It makes the picture looking like a painting. Beautiful!

@Standley: Thank you! Bang on with the way I visualized it :)

Denise from Perry, United States

This shot reminds me of thee book Jonathon Livingston Seagull, are you familiar with it? Or is this perhaps the reason you have given it this titie?

15 Apr 2009 9:57am

@Denise: Denise the book Jonathon Livingston Seagull remains one of my absolute favorites and you guessed right, was the reason for the title :)

This solo flight, soaring and aspirational reminded me of Jonathon and the spirit he was imbued with.

EYES WIDE SHUT from The library of my soul, United Kingdom

Denise beat me to it, Pavan. Your title took me there immediately. Neat sense of the bird's motion in flight

15 Apr 2009 10:30am

@EYES WIDE SHUT: Thank you Paul! You should know since you do a fair bit of soaring yourself :)

My soul mate. Excellent sense of motion.

15 Apr 2009 2:27pm

@Steve Rice: Mine too Steve. I guess photography like several other creative pursuits requires of us to soar alone :)

Ajay from Pune, India

The spread of the wings are so smooth creating a amazing flow of the whole body. Amazing how you have found this bird and that too in his best flight action.

15 Apr 2009 3:33pm

@Ajay: Well..it took some patience and tracking not to mention trying to out guess the movements of 'Jonathan'...Thank you Ajay..not just for the comment but for reading this 'favorite image' of mine so sincerely and aptly:)
